A: We are so particular about the way donations come in for several reasons:
1) The main reason, we are helping some people in urgent situations. Some people are homeless, some leaving abusive situations, some have a home that has burned down. These people leave with your gifts and wear them immediately.
2) Some of our clients do not have access to a washing machine or dryer. We want every gift our donors bring to us to be given in a way that honors God. We hope our donors will understand the purpose of their gift is to bless another.
3) Another reason we ask for you to freshly launder your items, is to help our volunteers. We have amazing people that give their time to help our store stay stocked. We want to utilize the time they give and not have them washing clothing when they could be sizing and putting it out on the floor.
Q: Why do we have to be scheduled to drop off our donations?

A: We have workstations set up in the back of the store. We like for everyone to have their own area to hang their items and sort sizes so our volunteers can get them to racks and size them as soon as possible.

A: We have "donor days" and "shopping days". On the shopping days, we have promised our customers that they will have privacy. We believe our shoppers should be able to shop with dignity. Our goal is to serve our customers and make them feel as comfortable as possible.

A: No, everything given to Heavens Helpers Closet (701) is used for the needs of others. Money donated goes directly towards our Ministry in helping those less fortunate in our community. Nothing is sold; all clothing, blankets, hygiene products, and accessories are given free of charge to our guests.
